5 Top Tips for Stress-Free Christmas Shopping
Now that the kids are back to school and the days are getting shorter we are all starting to think about Christmas (I know I am anyway), so let’s talk TOP 5 TIPS for stress-free Christmas shopping.
I don’t know about you, but I love Christmas! The music, the lights, the festivities, the catching up with friends, the wining and dining, the presents wrapped under the glistening Christmas trees, and those cosy nights in! (Sorry to any Grinchies out there!)
This year, more then ever, we need to get those Christmas lists ticked off early. I don’t know about you, but all this talk of product shortages, freight rates, and increased cost prices in the media, has my head spinning.
So I have devised a plan for all you fellow Christmas lovers, so we can do what we do best and enjoy the festivities instead of worrying about busy shops and product shortages.
We are going to tick off that list now, and we will be the ones rockin’ around the Christmas tree in December, glass of vino in hand, fluffy socks on, candles lit 😉
Here’s my TOP 5 TIPS for a stress-free Christmas shopping experience:
1. Prepare that list now
Don’t leave it until last minute ladies & gents. We want to be the first out of the blocks. Lets prepare those lists early so we are planned, we don’t over shop, and we don’t have to stress about those dreaded product shortages! Simples 😉
2. Set a budget
Know what you have to spend & stick to it. Once you have a budget, choosing the gift is the easy part. Remember, Christmas is about spending time with the ones you love. Find the perfect gift that they will love, it doesn’t have to break the bank. The most special gifts are the gifts that they know you really thought about them.
3. Shop Early
Now that you have your list ready, you have your budget set out and you know what you need. Shop early to avoid disappointment. Top Tip: Remember to factor in delivery times if you are shopping online folks.
4. Shop Local
I always find my local stores so helpful. If you don’t see what you are looking for, ask. If they don’t have it, they might be able to order it in or even suggest another great option. Plus they will really appreciate your custom, especially with the last two years that have been in it! Some of my favourite stores include; Jane Darcy (Obviously ;-)) , Robyns Nest Malahide, Meadows & Byrne, Seagreen & Serena Boutiques
5. Shop Online
Avoid the hustle & bustle of the shops and shop online. You can still support your favourite store by ordering online. Make sure to shop early this year and allow time for delivery, as we all know couriers are always super busy with Christmas deliveries, and even more so with the pandemic. Some of my favourite sites include; www.kilkennyshop.com , www.emporiumkalu.com , www.arnotts.ie, www.thebookresort.ie & www.hampersandco.com & again Jane Darcy has to go in there!
The main thing is not to stress. Make the list, set the budget, shop early, shop local & shop online.
Here’s to raising that glass of vino or hot choccie as we sit around our Christmas trees!
